WLW Broke the Seal on the Cereal Box at Battle Creek Central

WLW Broke the Seal on the Cereal Box at Battle Creek Central

So interestingly enough Walled Lake Western broke conventions this weekend. WLW, or any east side team for that matter, had not competed at a west side tournament in a decade. Although we were tiny this weekend with a measly 7 events, we still managed to stun the west sides as best we could. Our first thank you goes out to the absolutely brilliant Krystin Frane who made this entire weekend possible by driving, serving as our sole coach, and providing love and support. Secondly an enormous thank you goes to the Fitzpatrick family for driving and for bringing the delicious bagels and water bottles. One last thank you goes to Brandon Burnett for stepping in for Taylor Dalton. Did I say one last thank you? The actual last one goes out to our competitors who woke up at 4 in the morning to drive 2 hours to Battle Creek Central. You will be pleased to know that although we were tiny, we were mighty! WLW shocked west siders by taking home a 2nd place sweeps trophy in the Cat Division! Out of 6 entries, 5 entries broke semis and 2 entries broke finals. Please congratulate:

Semi-Finalists:
Brendan Kramer - Dramatic Interp. - 10th Place
Layla Noormarji - Dramatic Interp. - 9th Place
Mitchell Kenrick/David Hollowell - Duo - 9th Place

Finalists:
Clare Fitzpatrick - Storytelling - 3rd Place
Sam Bloch - Storytelling - FIRST PLACE

Please make sure you congratulate these guys if you see them at school or in any other circumstance! All registration for the Dexter tourney will be confirmed Tuesday, but if you know you are not competing and are registered then tell a base team member ASAP. In depth placements of this tourney can be found at http://ie.hirelesmana.com/tabs.php?tourn=cerealcity
